We are complete suckers for cool and curated homes. From vintage details to one-of-a-kind architecture, there is so much careful thought when it comes to home design. And this year, we were lucky enough to tour several gorgeous homes of top designers, influences and celebrities alike—all while gaining major design inspiration from each that we’ll never forget.

Here are five of the most standout homes we toured this year, from California to South Carolina to Maryland.

Charming Marina Del Rey New Build

California-cool living room

This California home is an airy oasis, with a neutral palette and modern aesthetic that perfectly defined the client's style. Interior designer Kerry Vasquez turned a new build into a true home for this family, one that is equally as chic as it is kid-friendly.

"I wanted the house to reflect my clients, their personalities, and their lifestyle—stylish, relaxed, slightly whimsical, and 100% kid-proof," Vasquez noted.

Choosing durable furniture and pops of color throughout keeps the home feeling meant for the whole family. And its best kept secret? The zebra print wallpaper that hides out in the breakfast nook.

Dreamy Vacation Home in Scottsdale, Arizona

"Organic desert living" is the coined style for this Scottsdale vacation home, as defined by Kristen Forgione, the founder and principal designer of THELIFESTYLEDCO. She gave us the full scoop on this stunning 6,297 square foot home—a blank-slate new build that is now a one-of-a-kind escape.

"The combination of warm tones mixed with crisp whites allows texture to be king, while keeping prominent cohesion in the muted color palette allowed us to bridge the gap between the desert and the coast," Forgione said.

Tonal, muted colors keep a balanced palette in the space and spills over to every room in the house. The design isn't afraid to embrace white space for a crisp, clean finish.

A Fashionista’s Perfectly Curated Home

Amanda Greeley Home tour - living room with vintage pieces and French accents

Design, Photo, and Styling: Amanda Greeley

A sense of fashion extends into the home for Amanda Greeley, the founder and CEO of luxury loafer brand THELMA. We toured her charming South Carolina apartment that feels classic, sophisticated, and completely cozy.

When designing the home, Greely focused on blending the old and new, keeping a cohesive color palette to make the space feel united.

"I love this building’s old bones, high ceilings, crown molding with coats and coats of paint, and wide wood floors," Greeley said. "It’s got its imperfections, but I like the way the patina of an old home balances newer, more modern furniture. Because it’s small, I wanted to keep the color palette limited. I think it helps to make the space feel a bit larger."

Jenna Dewan’s Indoor-Outdoor L.A. Oasis

Late last year, acclaimed actress Jenna Dewan moved into this stunning L.A. rental home with boyfriend Steve Kazee—and knew she wanted to make the home her own. With the help of AllModern and interior stylist Erin Fetherston, she designed a warm and inviting space that is perfect for raising her future family, as at the time, her first baby with Kazee was on the way.

“Steve likes a more minimalistic look and has amazing taste,” Dewan explained. “And I tend to go more feminine and mystical in my tastes, but we easily found a happy medium.” The pair settled on a clean and comfortable look that translates inside and outside of their home.

Sunny L.A. weather makes the perfect backdrop for outdoor living, and Dewan's chic outdoor space in the home is perfect for taking in the sunshine year-round.

Stephanie Watkins’ Bohemian Chic Home

Design & Photo: Stephanie Watkins of Casa Watkins Living

It isn't an easy feat to boldly mix colors and create a colorful, dreamy escape. But Stephanie Watkins, founder of blog Casa Watkins Living, did just that in her modern bohemian Maryland home that we were lucky to tour earlier this year.

Watkins designs fearlessly, embracing color and texture in all corners of her home, which aligns deeply with her Caribbean roots. "As a Caribbean native with a love for color, I wanted our home to feel like we are always on vacation," Watkins said. "I have always appreciated showcasing that love of my own culture as well as other global cultures in our home. As I’m designing, I make sure the cultural elements are shown respectfully and appropriately."

Full of life and personality, this home embraces positive energy and warmth—which is very reminiscent of Watkins herself.
