Green Is the Color You Need More of In Your Home This Year

There’s nothing like a few coats of paint to transform any space, from a front door to an accent wall to a nursery. If you’re looking for impactful design changes to make in 2021, this is the color you’re going to want to start embracing for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and more: green.

Green never really went out of style, but it’s showing up in a big way across 2021 color trends predictions from Pantone, Shutterstock, and major paint authorities such as Sherwin Williams, Behr, and Benjamin Moore. If that weren’t enough proof, interior designers are also loving this shade for its flexibility and innate elegance.

“The nice thing about green is that it acts as a neutral because it’s an earth tone,” Bria Hammel, the CEO and creative director of Bria Hammel Interiors, says. “Because we see so much of it outside, it’s not as shocking of a color to incorporate into your home. Pairing it with similar undertone accent colors makes it feel neutral and can look so sophisticated and chic.”

These pictures are proof that green can work in any room, whether in small amounts or on every wall.

Bria Hammel Interiors

Bria Hammel Interiors used Benjamin Moore’s Southern Vine paint color to create the elegant mood of this lovely half bath. The deep, earthy green pairs beautifully with intricate wallpaper and warm fixtures.

For another paint suggestion, Hammel recommends Vintage Vogue, also by Benjamin Moore. Hammel notes that these greens made an impressive finished look from walls to millwork to cabinetry.

House 9

Pink and green go together like, well, pink and green. This much-loved color combination is done so well in this Notting Hill apartment from the creative minds at House Nine.

We also love that the dusky, spruce-like hue is confined to the built-in bookcases, making it an approachable addition to the space.
