Whether you're decorating a tranquil bedroom or selecting a color palette for your entire house, nailing down the right hues for every room can be a full-time job. The color palette you decide on will create the space's entire vibe. Moreso than furniture or even artwork, the colors in your space really set the entire mood.

If you're looking for inspiration, nature can be your best friend. From rich clays to lush greens to earthy browns, some of the best color palettes are found right outside your front door.

To help you pick out the perfect earthy color palette, we talked to a handful of designers to find out which nature-inspired colors really play well together. Read on for their favorite pairings for any room in your house.

If your idea of nature includes a long day at the beach but you're not into the overly coastal-inspired decor, this palette is for you. Jamie King, JLK Interiors loves pairing ocean-inspired hues with neutral, crisp whites to create "an earthy color palette that has a beachy feel to it without being too literal."

Don't be afraid to play with brown. Michelle Lisac of Michelle Lisac Interior Design says pairing gray and brown creates "a cool tone and a warm tone which complement each other while helping to balance the space." Earthy color palettes are perfect for creating a neutral home that's not devoid of color.

Want to pull in a bit more color? Lisac suggests mixing in a soft, light blue alongside the rich oak and brown hues in your room to add a touch of tranquility and serenity.

Dusty Rose + Olive Green

Cait Pappas of Nest Out West is a big fan of pulling in green and pink to your earthy palette.

"What I love about pairing dusty rose with a deep, moody, almost charcoal-looking shade of green is that the two colors are opposite each other on the color wheel, meaning they complement one another quite perfectly in tone," she says. "You get a brilliant balance of warm and cool."

Gold + Beige

"What better way to make a well-lit, sunny space feel even warmer than with a monochromatic white and beige palette accented by a warm gold pop of color?" Pappas says. Take some inspiration from the sun without overpowering the space by opting for more muted golds over yellows or bright oranges. Instant '70s vibes.

Dark Charcoal + Rich Wood

An earthy color palette doesn't have to be bright or neutral. Pappas says a rich charcoal and wood palette may sound "rather dark and masculine on paper, but when put together in a space with lots of natural light, it's rather inviting."

Committing to the dark look? Pappas suggests painting the ceiling the same rich hue to add more depth to your room and really open it up.

Burnt Orange + Gray

Rich, muted oranges are very trendy right now. Pappas suggests mixing them with cool grays.

"To me, modern interiors that also feel warm and inviting need to have a balance of warm and cool tones," she says. "When working with bright whites and shades of gray, I tend to pull in muted but warm colors such as brick red, mustard, and burnt orange."

White + Tan + Gray

"There's nothing more classic than a black and white color palette, but to create depth and add interest to the look, pull in gray materials," says Pappas.

You can still embrace the earthy look and maintain a crisp, neutral color palette by blending various shades of tans, grays, and whites.

Mary Patton of Mary Patton Design loves pairing green and tan to create an earthy vibe that's still bright and airy.

"Green, brown, and gold all work well together because they are all found in nature," she says. "This palette could be used in a lot of different ways, but I love the idea of doing it in a hyper-modern house as a way to intentionally make it feel softer."

Charcoal + Brown

If you want to commit to brown, add in some stone or gray hues as well. Pulling in a lighter but still warm hue like honey keeps this space airy and bright.

"I love how these colors work seamlessly together but still contrast enough to add dimension to the room," Rebecca Johnston of R.Johnston Interiors says.

Reena Sotropa of Reena Sotropa In House Design Group calls this the "prairie" palette.

"[This palette] offers a wide variety of neutral tones that appeal to almost everyone," she says. "The beauty of using warm neutrals such as browns and taupes in combination with cooler neutrals like gray is that the room is very flexible and never reads too heavily in one direction or the other."

Orange + Brown

On the other hand, Sotropa says, pulling in rich colors can also provide an earthy, grounded vibe.

"Vibrant autumn tones like orange or russet can be a beautiful way to incorporate strong color in a space while enhancing the richness and warmth," Sotropa says. "These tones look great when combined with stained wood and warm metals," she says.

Going for a relaxing bedroom vibe? By layering various neutral hues, this bedroom has depth but still creates a cozy, understated look.

"These earthy, almost “spa-like” tones lend themselves beautifully to bedrooms or other areas of refuge," Sotropa explains. "The low-contrast hues create a space that is serene but also warm and relaxing."

Don't be afraid to decorate with red. While red can sometimes overpower a space, it's not always the case.

"The warm rich tone of chocolate brown can hold its own and balance the intensity of red without resulting in a space that is too colorful or dynamic," Sotropa explains.

Kristin Bartone of Bartone Interiors loves pulling in pops of colors inspired by the sun in her earthy palettes.

"Yellow is great because it exudes happiness; almost any hue or saturation level can add interest to an otherwise neutral interior," she says.

Maggie Griffin of Maggie Griffin Design loves pulling in mushroom-inspired hues into a rich color palette.

"A griege balanced against wood tones like this bamboo bed and completed with white fluffy bedding make for a soothing, earthy guest retreat," she says.

Griffin also loves more traditional palettes that still channel earthy colors.

"Balancing the lightness of cream and crisp white linens, blue is a gorgeous soothing accent tone here in this powder room, while the milky brown keeps the space grounded and cozy," she explains.

Earthy doesn't have to mean bright. Here, Kirsten Krason, co-founder of House of Jade Interiors pairs various shades of warm cream and white to create a cozy bedroom palette. Itching to add in a bit more color?

"You can't go wrong with creams and terracotta hues," she says. "A sage green accent pairs well with these colors and is a great nod to the outdoors."

Black is such a confident color that it can work in any palette, even one that leans heavily on lighter tones.

"It's such a relaxing color and easy on the eyes, without it taking away from the neutral tones of the room," says Rashmi K Patel, designer, and owner of RushMeHome Designs .

Here's another palette that pulls in black but still gives off major earthy vibes. Pairing black with natural wood or beige can really tone down the color and give it a super approachable feel.

"There is a certain warmth and charm in the combination of deep moody colors alongside earthy tones," Ursula Carmona of Home Made by Carmona says.

"Choosing green and orange combined with white makes me feel like I am in a tropical place for vacations every single day," she says.

We can't get enough of monochromatic color palettes, especially when they channel earthy colors. Alev paired peach and orange together to create a pop of positive energy in this living space. The various shades of warm orange create depth that's still bordering on neutral.
