When it came time to choose our next digital issue cover star, it was a true no-brainer. We wanted someone who felt fresh, inspiring, and timeless all at the same time. Someone who embodied the spirit of our issue theme: The Evergreen Issue.

To us, evergreen means never going out of style. It means not being tied to a time or a place. It means looking past short-lived trends and finding your own enduring approach to design and life.

Enter: Ariana DeBose.

DeBose is a multi-faceted performer you may recognize from her time portraying "The Bullet" in the original company of Hamilton. And while she's not currently performing on "The Great White Way," she continuously lands impressive gig after impressive gig.

Perhaps you caught her beautifully nuanced role in The Prom on Netflix. She portrayed Alyssa, a teenager grappling with familial expectations while also exploring her own sexuality and sense of self. Or maybe you were charmed by her scene-stealing performance as school-teacher Emma Tate in Schmigadoon!, a musical parody featuring Broadway greats and comedians alike.

Next up for DeBose? Taking on one of the most beloved, well-known roles in Hollywood/Broadway history in Steven Spielberg's take on West Side Story. DeBose is our new Anita, stepping into the role that Rita Moreno helped solidify as timeless in the '60s.

DeBose taking on such an iconic, everlasting role seemed like a perfect representation of our Evergreen theme. So, we visited DeBose at the chic cottage where she goes to escape the city and be surrounded by nature. The moment we walked into the decades-old home and encountered its timeless beauty in person, we knew we made the right choice.

We hope you join us in celebrating the things that stick around.
