Interior designers and other experts in the home industry work on an impressive number of spaces throughout their careers. But even if some of the makeovers and redesigns start to blend together after a few years, there are some rooms that are just truly unforgettable, and we love to share them with you as part of our "One Room I'll Never Forget" franchise.

To give designers a chance to revisit their favorite projects—and to bring you plenty of inspiration for your own home—we give our favorite pros the chance to share the one room they will remember forever. For some, there’s a sentimental connection, for others, there was an obstacle they never thought they’d overcome. But no matter what, these rooms are worth remembering.

"I love so much about this bathroom," Tate says. "I’m in love with the wallpaper, the water closet mural, and the beautiful artwork throughout the space. Additionally, I love the frameless shower, and the black ceiling and floor."

"I view dining rooms as the soul of a home - it’s where we gather, deepen friendships and strengthen the love for the ones we love," Quarles says. "Given that color, culture, art, and a love of nature are very much at the core of my being, at its current state, my dining room not only represents my style, but also represents who I am as a person."

A One-of-a-Kind Raspberry Den by Lisa Gilmore

"This was the first time in my business that a client fully trusted me when it came to color," Gilmore explains. "In the past I have done rooms painted in all black or navy, however, they were always balanced with other colors, patterns, art, texture. This is the first time that a client allowed me to saturate an entire room in a hue and run with it—and raspberry at that! Raspberry isn’t a safe choice at all—however, it ended up feeling like such a safe and cozy room that they loved."

“Every detail about this project stands out to me because I had the opportunity to create one of my most admired designs for my parents' home,” Imtiaz says. “The art and prints displayed on their shelves were created by my kids, and some of the treasures adorning the walls belong to my parents, which were passed down to them.”

A Soothing Spa-Like Bathroom by Breegan Jane

"This room exudes much of what the Breegan Jane signature stands for," she explains. "More than that, though, it reflects my growth and expertise as a designer. In that respect, this room symbolizes just the tip of my creative iceberg. This project gave me more confidence as a designer, and it has challenged and propelled me to incorporate more cultural elements in a space without the safety net of a color palette."

A Dreamy, Playful Closet by Lisa Adams

"The design is flexible enough to evolve as my own style changes, and I think it really showcases the current pieces that I’m wearing, so that it always feels fresh and inspiring," Adams says. "The color receives so many compliments, and I like that clients see it and realize they don’t have to run from color. You can still do something subtle without settling for an all-white closet!"

A Sleek, Swanky Home Office by Candace Griffin

"I love how eclectic yet polished the room feels," Griffin says. "It has a completely laidback vibe but is still fit for a boss. That's exactly the vibe my client wanted and after much brainstorming, we nailed it. This property is special to me because it was unlike any other space I've done and we were able to get it done during a really challenging time."

“We walked into this project when it was a spec house that had been about 70 percent completed, so we were tasked with collaborating with a totally new crew of developers, builders, and architects, and swapping out the initial ‘safe’ choices that were specified with totally chic and unique alternatives,” Murray explains. “My team did an amazing job making it all come together—managing to execute flawlessly in these situations is always a feat."

A Rich, Vibrant Bedroom by Iman Stewart

“I will never forget this project because my client is also a friend I met over seven years ago,” Stewart says. “He is a comedian, and I would attend his stand-up comedy shows. And what really makes this project special is that he is from the same country as my father, one with vibrant colors and lots of personality: a little, big island called Jamaica. I wanted to make sure my client’s personality came out through his space.”

“Rarely do you get to use so many bold colors and patterns and weird vintage pieces. It’s actually influencing me now when I’m at a ‘reject the all-white’ stage and wanting to focus more on color this year," Henderson says.
