Interior designers and other experts in the home industry work on an impressive number of spaces throughout their careers. But even if some of the makeovers and redesigns start to blend together after a few years, there are some rooms that are just truly unforgettable.

So, to give designers a chance to revisit their favorite projects—and to bring you plenty of inspiration for your own home—we’re sharing the one room these pros will remember forever. For some, there’s a sentimental connection, for others, there was an obstacle they never thought they’d overcome. But no matter what, these rooms are worth remembering.

Travis London has designed his fair share of utterly glamourous spaces. After all, his design firm, Studio London, is known for its artfully creative approach to interiors. However, the one space he'll never forget is actually one of his own—his home office, which comes complete with a luxe chandelier, fur-lined chairs, and standout mural wallpaper.

What makes the space special is that it evokes creativity and fun, but also feels professional.

"This is one project that I'll certainly never forget," London shares. "While I design spaces for clients, designing a space for myself—and an office at that—is very personal. What makes the space special is that it evokes creativity and fun, but also feels professional."

Fun, chic, and elegant, this is an office where we would gladly take Zoom calls all day. Scroll on to learn how London gave his office a makeover he'll always remember.

Each element of this office is as thoughtful and artful as could be: the modern desk lamp and coordinating classic office chair, the impactful wooden desk that grounds the room, and of course, the playful mural wallpaper that London notes is a standout aspect of the space for him.

"The standout to me in my office is the mural wallpaper by Drop It Modern," he notes. "But, I have so many favorite elements of the room: the chandelier, large windows, vintage-inspired desk, fur chairs, and leather rug."

London did not shy away from texture in this space, and those elements are some of his favorites in the space. Juxtaposing sleek, modern elements with more textural elements, like the woven rug and furry chairs by Restoration Hardware, creates tons of visual interest and makes this office a complete knockout.

Even his own home did pose a few challenges for design, though, according to London. "The room essentially is a small space, so I needed to make it feel larger and to accommodate all needs for an office space," he notes.

Working with a small space isn't necessarily a bad thing. Tinier spots in the home are key places to take risks, and that certainly applies to this room. For example, bold wallpaper like this could overwhelm a larger space. But in this concentrated amount, it provides just the right amount of punch.

"My proudest moment during this space was seeing the wallpaper come to life—and therefore, it brought the room to life," London notes.

London's own office inspired him to go bold when it comes to designing offices for clients.

"I now think about the needs of a home office and what that means to my clients today," London says. "It definitely used to mean something different to me, but what we need now in working from home is much different."

The office is completely representative of London's style now, and he feels that he got to be entirely playful when designing it. This space is proof that offices deserve a lot of love, though they may not always be the first space we think to go bold in. We spend so much time in our offices throughout the day, so why shouldn't they be beautiful?

London proved that offices deserve to have a little fun, too—and we couldn't agree more. If you need us, we'll be out shopping for fur chairs.
